  • Our Telescopes   ( 2 Articles )

Not only do we have the biggest telescopes in the South Burnett, the Meade 35cm F10 Schmidt-Cassegrain optical systems are computerised and GPS assisted. They allow the user to select any one of the 150,000 objects in the database and slew to that object with pinpoint accuracy. If you want to see anything other than what the astronomer selects for you, that can be done quite easily. Each telescope has a large 2" eyepiece ideal for glass wearers . Each scope can magnify 120x and when the atmospherics is steady and clear, we can boost the power up to 600x or more.

Night Sessions start with an outside guided tour of the night skies with the astronomer as he points out with his green laser, constellations, stars, planets before we head over to the Star Theatre for a short preamble before we head to the Obs. deck to view through the telescopes.
