- Open the public, tourists, schools, Community groups, etc.
- Free daytime guided tour of Observatory by the astronomer.
- Free entry into the Display Centre every afternoon (see below) and conduct
Night Sky observing sessions 7 nights a week.
- During SPRING/SUMMER (Sept.1 thru to Feb.28) we open our doors from 1pm
Thurs-Tues. and start the Night Sky observing session at 7.30pm.Night sessions run Mon-Sat.
- During AUTUMN/WINTER (March 1 thru to August 31) we open from 12 noon Thurs-Tues. and start the Night Sky observing session at 7pm. Night sessions run Mon-Sat.
- Day sessions Thurs.-Tues. (Wed. by appointment.) in the Star Theatre are 2pm during the Autumn/Winter period, and 2pm and 4pm during the Spring/Summer period.
- Wednesdays are by appointment only with Tour groups and Schools excepted.
- Bus/Coach and School groups however, can book for any day and time that suits their needs.

During all Queensland School Holidays and most Public holidays, we operate 7 days and nights a week.
- Closed on Good Friday and Xmas Day and New Year's Eve.
