  • Look to the west on September 11th & 12th at 6pm or so..You will see Venus and Mars about a finger;s width apart. Below Venus you should see a small 'star' That is Mercury!  These 3 planets do not come close like this very often, so make the best of it.
  • Those who 'buy or have a star named after them' are suckers!  No one can buy a star with your name on it. It is scam and those who think they can 'see' THEIR 'star' in a telescope are in for a big shock.  We have had a number of people coming to the obs. to see 'their star' only to see a whole maze of stars in the eyepiece.
