We can seat 68 persons in the Star Theatre, 15 persons in the Display Centre and no more than 35 persons on the Observation Deck with the telescopes.

If there is more than this we stagger the start/stop times of each group. So while one group gets to see a DVD on some Space theme in the Star Theatre, the other half of the group does their stargazing thing. An hour later, the two groups swap over.

  • In case the weather does not co-operate with Night Sky viewing when you arrive at the Observatory, we offer you a Star Theatre show or your group can retire to the pub, or go home. However......
  • If it clouds up during the stargazing show, we adjourn into the Star Theatre for an Audio/Visual show of the Solar System and Universe. No refunds are given.
  • The best policy is to call the Obs. before you leave home for a final check of cloud cover over Maidenwell.

During the day your group can spend an hour in the Ed Centre then after dinner at the nearby pub, they do their Star Gazing with the astronomer who begins with an open air guided tour of the night skies using a powerful green laser that can point out various stars, constellations,  before we start looking through the big telescopes. Costs for this is listed on the Front Page of this website.
