- Safety is taken seriously at the Observatory.
- All exits are clear of obstructions and fully illuminated at night. We have an emergency exit off the main deck at rear of observatory to the car park. We also have a First Aid Kit and CO2 fire extinguishers throughout the complex.
- All our main entrances and exits have ramps, allowing for wheelchair and those with walker frames to come and go with ease.
- All those on the Obs. Deck for a night sky viewing session MUST be seated before, during and after the roof opening.

In case of fire in any building visitors shall exit in single file down the ramps and out onto the sports field.
We do have a set of steps as an Emergency access which leads directly onto the car park.
All buildings have Chubb CO2 extinguishers on hand.
If at all there are any medical problems we call the Ambos.

We have a very extensive and special range of astronomical DVD's suitable for all ages.
- To demonstrate Moon phases, Eclipses, Size, Mass, Density, Gravity Magnetism and Distance, we use a variety of props that have proven affective for this sort of presentation.
- We have on display, 2 meteorites that fell to Earth thousands of years ago. One is from Western Australia and the other from a small Chinese town called, Nandan. This particular rock which contains 93% Iron (Fe) and 7% Nickle (Ni) fell to Earth in 1516 but was not found until 1958. This particular meteorite is probably the only one of its type in Qld if not Australia, and we are proud to show it off.
