Under the trees opposite the pub is a FREE 48 hour sheltered CAMPING site. Ideal for vans, motorhomes and campers.

Camping on the town's sport field

If you want to camp on the town's sports field you MUST be boked into the Observatory for a day and Night show and you must also get council written permission.

Schools, and community groups must also get that form.

Phone (07) 4171 6800 and ask for Sara Saxer re a form to fill in for council permission.

If you are not booked into the Observatory for a day and night show, you will not get that form approved as the sports field is not a free camping spot.

Anyone found camping illegally without Council permission will be trespassing and they will fine you big time!

Council charges for having a hot shower (located close to the Observatory) are $2.20 child, $5.50 adults per day/night. Water limit is 3 minutes max .

A deep waterhole where one can cool off on a hot day.The steep 80 metre walkway is rocky, but firm. Ideal for those wanting to relax enjoy and have fun just a few minutes drive from town. Lock your vehicle and do not leave anything of valuable that can be seen by eye.

Meals 6am to 5.30m 7 days a week. Total seating capacity is 80. Fuel, provisions, papers, (no tobacco). Store can supply breakfasts to schools and community groups visiting the Observatory.
