This 2b/r (sleeps 5) cottage is just a 2 minute walk to the Observatory
1 Queen Bedroom and 1 Double Bedroom.
An emergency single mattress is stored in the wardrobe.
All linen is provided. Complimentary tea and coffee are provided.The cottage is rented out on a "leave as you found it basis" or a cleaning fee will be charged.
In after 1pm and vacate by 10am. Payment by Visa, MasterCard or Bpay. Bookings: Phone owner Helen Guy 0438 011 257. Tariff: 1 to 2 people $85 per night; 2 to 4 people $100 per night. Weekly rate: Stay for 7 nights for the price of 6 nights.

FREE CAMPING area
Under the trees is a FREE 48 hour sheltered CAMPING site. Ideal for vans, motorhomes and campers.48-hour camp site across the road from the pub.
Camping site has gas BBQ.close to amenities, the shop and pub.Just a few minutes drive down to Coomba Falls.
Camping on Sports Field
Caravans, Motorhomes, Schools and community groups are the only ones allowed to camp as shown by the red lines in photo at left.
This camping is free on the proviso your group/school is booked into the Observatory for a Day and Night show.
You must also get written council permission
If camping behind the Maidenwell Hotel and you spill out onto the sports field, you still have to get Council permission.

Anyone camping without Council permission will be deemed to be trespassing.
Council charges for having a hot shower (located close to the Observatory) are $2.20 child, $5.50 adults per day/night. Water limit is 3 minutes max .

Maidenwell Sports Field looking south.Grounds are ideal for Motorhome, Caravan, Car, Motor bike club rallies, school and scout camps overs.
To qualify for this space, you have to be booked into the Observatory for Night and or Day session show and have written permission from the South Burnett Regional Council.
Hire of Sports Field facilities:
There is a full stocked kitchen and gas BBQ (at right of photo) for $27.50 per day/night.
Hire of community hall for school community groups sleep-overs... $37.50.
(No one is allowed to sleep in the hall other than school children or a community group)
Coomba Falls
A deep waterhole where one can cool off on a hot day.The steep 80 metre walkway is rocky, but firm. Ideal for those wanting to relax enjoy and have fun just a few minutes drive from town. Lock your vehicle and do not leave anything of valuable that can be seen by eye.
Surrounded by 'Blackboy' trees, these suppose to be the spirits of the dead warriors that fought and died there many centuries ago. An ideal spot for daytime photography, but don't go there alone at night or under a Full Moon..eerie, heart-thumping things happen! I know, I've experienced it.

Meals 6am to 5.30m 7 days a week. Total seating capacity is 80. Fuel, provisions, papers, (no tobacco). Store can supply breakfasts to schools and community groups visiting the Observatory.
